C.P. & A.E.: Carolyn owned and operated one of the largest bridal stores in Southern Arizona for over 20 years. Annette spent the majority of her career in the hotel and travel industry. She previously owned one of the largest Internet bridal companies headquartered in Arizona. Both of us believe lingerie is a natural extension of bridal and are happy to join forces to help women of all ages feel beautiful and sexy. Shopping for lingerie can be a fun and exciting experience for everyone!
A.T.P.: What makes your website special?
C.P. & A.E.: [We started this business because] we wanted to create a website that women would feel comfortable shopping on and not be embarrassed to refer their friends, lovers, boyfriends and husbands. We believed many lingerie sites portrayed women in an unflattering image. It was our goal to change this and portray women as we believe they should be portrayed: strong, sexy and smart. We created KissMeFashions.com with this goal in mind. We believe our site is the most beautiful retail site in the lingerie industry. It has been a learning experience and an evolving process. We are always working hard to improve it. We also are huge believers in social networking and have a very active Facebook page and subscription newsletter with close to 18,000 fans and growing approximately 1,000 new fans per week.
A.T.P.: What brands are important to your store?
C.P. & A.E.: We carry Dreamgirl, Leg Avenue, Seven ‘til Midnight, René Rofé, Coquette, Elegant Moments, Magic Silk, G World and Forplay. We will be adding Shirley of Hollywood and Baci.
A.T.P.: What price and size range do you carry?
C.P. & A.E.: We carry sizes XS through plus. Our price points tend to be in mid-range. We would like to add more deluxe lines in the future since many of our bridal customers desire an upscale product. The need for clubwear has grown so we are now considering adding more selection to our dress and shoe line.
A.T.P.: What does the average customer spend per visit to your site?
C.P. & A.E.: $100
A.T.P.: Who is your customer base made up of?
C.P. & A.E.: Our Facebook Page has an age limit on it. No one under the age of 18 can access it. So we carry all merchandise geared to people over age 18. We have approximately two thirds women and one third men.
A.T.P.: What is your typical customer size?
C.P. & A.E.: Sizes S through L.
A.T.P.: What else about your site would you like to share?
C.P. & A.E.: With having been in the bridal industry for so many years, customers can count on us to take excellent care of their every need. We love what we do, and it shows. We feel this industry needs to come out of the background and into the spotlight. We are working on ways to make that happen!
